The Work We Do

Many citizens are disturbed when they believe animals are being neglected, abused or treated cruelly. Some take action and call on HSSF to help.

Once during a blistering hot, triple-digit summer day, our Humane Officers received a call from a concerned citizen when she saw these sheep in full wool coats. When our officers arrived, they observed the sheep had rapid respiration rates. It was clear, they were suffering. With a cooperative owner, the sheep were sheared the next day, and our officers were on their way to the next call.

This is just one example of the work we do. Your donations and support enable us to continue preventing animal abuse and neglect in our communities.

Before: Sheep with heavy coats in teh hot sun; after: Happy sheared sheep.
