In addition to funding our shelter animal vaccine program with the proceeds of these clinics, they provide an opportunity to; help prevent the spread of rabies, educate people on animal health care (spaying/neutering), increase the potential of reuniting lost animals with their owners through the sale of dog licenses and microchips, and? provide a community service.

We also hope to fund free and subsidized spay/neuter surgeries from the proceeds of these clinics.

Auburn Tack & Feed sponsored a ?Dog & Cat Flea & Tick Dip? in April.? Pamela Mace with KHAI Radio, organized the event.

A representative from Bio-Groom was on hand with product samples and KHAI Radio did a live broadcast from the site.?

While we were taking a break, a lady pulls up in her car.? She motions to us and asks if the car is in the correct position.? ?That?s fine? we say.? Inside the car she prepares for her exit while we?re all wondering what she?s brought to be dipped.? ?it must be a cat?, no ?a dog?, ?no a?.? as she reaches down on the floor of the drivers side we?re certain it?s a small dog.? Out she comes with the floor mat and gives it a shake.? ?I?m just going to dust this off? she says.? She replaces the floor mat and closes the car door and starts walking away.? ?It?s all yours? she exclaims.

Riddled with laughter, someone in our group says ?this isn?t a car wash lady, it?s a flea and tick dip?.? ?Oh my, but I???? Before she could finish, an entrepreneur in our group says, ?hold on a minute, we?ve just become a car wash, get some Bio-Groom shampoo and start scrubbing?.? Hence the idea of a car wash? was born.? (see story on page 6)? Before the end of the day, we washed four cars.? They drove off silky, shiny and tangle-free!!
