Rewarding. I came to find out the accurate meaning of that word when I had the good fortune to con-nect with the Friends group at PETCO six years ago. I walked into the pet store ex-pecting nothing but to look at fish with my father.
Luckily, I spotted some cages with cats in them, and I told my father I was going to go and look at them. There was a large crowd of people crammed around the kittens, but I was able to squeeze through.

The woman behind the table began talking to me, and I learned that she was the president of the feline rescue group. I asked with no real hope, if there was any-thing I could do to help her. All I expected her to say was, sorry youre too young, you have to be 18, as all the others had done. Ive wanted to work with animals since the age of two when I declared that I wanted to be a "veginarian", also known as a veterinarian! To my great surprise and pleasure however, they took me on as a volunteer with open arms, and I have been working with them for the past six years without a single regret.
P.S. We at Friends are glad she asked!!
