Message from the President

It is with great enthusiasm that we announce the arrival of Pat Claerbout as Executive Director. Pat began her new assignment on December 1st. She comes to Placer County Animal Control from El Dorado Animal Control where she spent the past 12 years as Executive Director. Like all of us, she looks forward to breaking ground on a new shelter in the near future.

Pat is an innovative individual and well respected in the animal services industry. She is a person who recognizes that animal control field services and the care and adoption of shelter animals have the same level of priority.

The Friends group welcomes Pat and looks forward to working with her to bring a new, modern animal shelter to Placer County.

And now with the holiday season upon us, the Friends board and members have agreed it?s time to focus on family, reflect on our accomplishments over the past fourteen months, and to strategize for 2000.

The programs we have set in motion in 1999 include: foster care, mobile adoption fairs, nationwide shelter event celebrations, vaccine clinics, and local festival participation. We could not have carried out these programs without the cooperation of the staff at Placer County Animal Control and Health and Human Services. Their flexibility and desire to find homes for shelter animals has allowed us to achieve many of our goals.

Thanks to all Placer County staff who have supported our programs throughout the year!

Sincerely,
Rosemary Frieborn
